On this site I have added images which visualise, hopefully in an interesting and appealing manner, the amazing work my clients do each and every day. The sliding captions highlight the small way I have helped these organisations along their journey.
As they say, every picture tells a story. The image on this page shows Marie Carroll, who won the 2008 Ireland InVOLved Irish Volunteer of the Year award, and two of the gymnasts from Bayside Gymnastics, which she set up and ran for more than twenty years. Marie has since established Unlock Your Potential; an innovative personal development model based on physical exercise and confidence building tasks. I wish her every success with her venture.
When I was CEO of Volunteering Ireland, I initiated the very first Ireland InVOLved awards scheme during the UN International Year of Volunteers in 2001. I was thrilled when the awards were revived in 2008 and it is simply fantastic to see how they have gone from strength to strength every year - well done Volunteering Ireland! This year marks a decade on from the International Year (IYV+10) and has also been designated as the European Year of Volunteering. During the year, I will update you about aspects of EYV2011 that especially catch my attention, including any award schemes that are held. I might even collect exciting new stories and cool images along the way ...
